What is Trip2Talk?
Trip2Talk is an international Spanish immersion programme designed for secondary school students who want to improve their Spanish through real-life use of the language, while enjoying a safe, structured and enriching summer experience in Spain.
The programme takes place in Elche (Alicante), a Mediterranean city known for its safety, cultural heritage and student-friendly environment.
The students will attend:
4 hours of Spanish classes per day
Lessons taught in small groups
Classes focused on Spanish Comunication and Leaving Certificate Exam

Morning Spanish Sessions 09:00- 11:00
Mornings are all about building confidence and fluency. Students work in small groups on:

Lessons are interactive, practical and adapted to each level — with plenty of opportunities to speak, participate and improve naturally.

Leaving Certificate Focus 11:15- 13:15
Part of the morning is dedicated to exam-style preparation. Students practise:
oral role-plays and conversation tasks
stimulus-based interaction
short written responses
exam strategies to boost performance and confidence
The aim is simple: feel prepared, feel confident, perform better.

Immersive Afternoon Programme
15:30 – 18:30
Spanish moves beyond the classroom through supervised cultural and leisure experiences.
All activities are structured, guided and designed to encourage natural language use in real-life contexts.
Cultural Exploration (Guided visits; gastronomy routes; nature walks)
Beach & Outdoor Activities (Swimming session, outdoor team challenges & sports activities)
Cultural Workshops( Spanish Cooking Challenge, culture quiz evenings & Interactive themed workshops)
Evenings are relaxed but organised, combining community time with clear routines and supervision.
What is
the accommodation like?
Students stay in a supervised student university campus in Elche.
Rooms are shared with students of a similar age and same sex. The residence provides WiFi and appropriate facilities for teenagers, including:
A shared kitchen area
A gym
Comfortable communal lounge areas with sofas
A table tennis area
Access to nearby sports facilities
House rules ensure safety, respect and wellbeing at all times.

Answers to your most common concerns
How are allergies, medication and dietary needs managed?
Families are asked to provide full medical and dietary information before the programme begins. We accommodate common allergies, intolerances and dietary requirements where possible. Medication is managed responsibly, and students are supported as needed in line with parental guidance.
What do meals include?
The programme includes full board: - Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner Meals are balanced and suitable for teenagers. Dietary needs are considered where possible. Meal times follow a structured daily routine to ensure students eat properly and maintain healthy habits throughout the programme.
What happens if a student becomes ill?
If a student feels unwell, the coordination team is informed immediately. Parents or guardians are contacted where appropriate, and medical assistance is arranged promptly. A member of the team accompanies the student to any medical appointment and remains with them until the situation is resolved. The programme includes travel insurance covering medical assistance during the stay.
Is insurance included? What does it cover?
Yes. The programme includes travel insurance covering: Medical assistance in Spain Repatriation if necessary Civil liability during organised activities and supervised time Optional cancellation insurance may be purchased separately by families who wish to add this coverage.
How do you communicate with parents?
Once the group is confirmed, a dedicated communication group will be created for parents. A summary of activities and key updates will be shared through this channel. In addition, families will be contacted directly in the event of any medical issue or important situation. An emergency contact number will always be available.

What if a student experiences anxiety, homesickness or emotional difficulty?
Adapting to a new environment can sometimes feel overwhelming. The programme includes continuous supervision and emotional support from the coordination team, including a team member with a background in Psychology. Students are monitored closely, and any concern is addressed promptly and sensitively. Parents are informed if necessary, ensuring transparency and reassurance.
Is there real free time?
Yes. The programme combines structured activities with supervised free time. In the afternoons, the organisation proposes different supervised activities such as: - An afternoon at the beach - A gastronomic walk through Elche - Visiting the city centre and going to a café - A nature walk around the Elche reservoir - A visit to the Elche shopping centre In addition, students have supervised free time around the residence area, which is a safe environment. Nearby there is a sports centre with football pitches, tennis courts, skating and skate areas, a swimming pool and a café, giving students options to relax and socialise.
Who supervises students 24/7, and where does the team stay?
Students are supervised at all times by the Trip2Talk coordination team. Two monitors stay overnight in the student university campus every night, ensuring continuous presence and availability. Clear routines, check-in procedures and structured schedules are in place to maintain a safe and well-managed environment. Students are never left without supervision.
